BASKETBALL

Did you know the Y invented basketball in 1891? Today our co-ed youth basketball program emphasizes the values of team sports, including fair play, teamwork, and having fun!

Register by Oct. 12 to avoid a $20 late fee.

No registration after Oct. 23.

Games start Saturday, November 8

Games end Saturday, December 20

Games held in YMCA Fortin Gym

No games or practices will be held on the week of Thanksgiving  

PRACTICE

LOCATION: YMCA Fortin Gym

Teams, practice times, practice locations, and game schedules will be determined by final enrollment numbers after skills day.

COACHES MEETING

LOCATION: YMCA Admin Offices

TIME: 6:00 PM

Before Season Meeting: Monday, October 9

This league is only possible thanks to the support of our volunteer coaches. If you’re interested in helping coach a team, please let us know or plan to attend the upcoming coaches meeting.

SKILLS DAY

We will assess participants’ skills and assign teams after skills day.

LOCATION: YMCA Fortin Gym

SKILLS TIME:

Kindergarten: Thurs. Oct 23^rd 6:00-7:00 pm

1st Grade: Sat. Oct 25^th 9:00-10:00 am

2nd Grade: Sat. Oct 25^th 10:15-11:15 am

3rd Grade: Sat. Oct 25^th 11:30 am-12:30 pm

4th Grade: Sat. Oct 25^th 12:45-1:45 pm

5th Grade: Sat. Oct 25^th 2:00-3:00 pm

6th-8th Grade: Fri. Oct 24^th 6:00-7:00 pm

AFTER SKILLS DAY

Teams will be formed after Skills Day. Once teams are assigned, you will receive an email with your team name and, if applicable, your coach’s contact information.

If your team does not yet have a coach, it means we are still looking for a volunteer. If you’re interested in coaching, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d love your support!

Practices will begin the week following Skills Day. There will be two weeks of practice before the first games, which start on November 8th.
