Kinder | 2021 Winter Basketball

Parents/Coaches Thanks for your patients as we have worked through a few situations. Schedule- We have secured an extra gym starting January 15th. This will allow us to move all games back to Saturday after this weekend. The schedules have been updated and can be found here- https://ygametime.com/branch/grandprairie/ PRE-K, Kinder, 1st and 2nd Grade- will play 7 games. Last game Feb 5th. 3rd grade and up will play 5 games plus a 2 game Tournament. Tournament will be Saturday Jan 29th and Feb 5th. All players 2nd grade and below will receive medals. 3rd grade and up will receive trophies for 1st and 2nd place in the Tournament. Uniforms- Teams will receive Jerseys next Friday Jan 14th. There was a shortage with the fabric, and it has arrived to supplier yesterday and they are preparing Jerseys to ship out. As always if you have any questions or concerns. Parents, JERSEYS: The extras jerseys are now in. If you need to exchange for a different size please see me for that exchange. I would need the old jersey you are exchanging for the new jersey you are seeking. BANDS: For grades PK – 2nd the new colored bands have arrived and we have enough for each player. These bands are REQUIRED during games for the players. We should be at the 4-game mark. A few announcements below. Continue being a good steward of the gym space and make sure parents and players are taking their trash with them i.e., water bottles, jackets, and snack trash. If there are issues with a gym after hours email Damion Owens [email protected] Games: Barton Elementary games are moving to Brown Elem. 2501 Tenth St, Irving, TX 75060 All teams should have 3 more games left in the season. 3rd grade and up will have tournaments added on January 29th and February 6th. (These games will be released Tuesday Jan 25th after this weekend’s games are finalized and teams can be seeded. 2nd grade and below- Remember wristbands will be used to help players match up man to man. Wristbands will be available at games and should be used. If you want a set for practice, please email me. Please make sure the Coach has picked them up from the Grand Prairie YMCA. I will have additional jerseys on Thursday. If there is a sizing issue and you need to exchange, I will be doing this on a team-by-team process. Let your coach know and Coaches reach out to me with what is needed. Covid: We trace 48 hours back from start of symptoms. Would assume that the Covid positive player had close contact with other players. 5-day quarantine for all from Y sports. Can return after day 5 if symptom free. Children that have been vaccinated within last 6 months and are symptom free could play. Otherwise, all players can return next practice (after 5 days) if symptom free. Let me know if you have questions.
