Information
AGE
- Player must be league age by the start of the season
- U6 – 5 or 6 yrs old by March 9, 2020
- U8 – 7 or 8 yrs old by March 9, 2020
- U10 – 9 or 10 yrs old by March 9, 2020
EQUIPMENT
- Uniform includes jersey, shorts, socks, & soccer ball
- Players must supply shinguards and must be worn at ALL practices and games!
- Tennis shoes or cleats are recommended (no metal cleats)
FIELD INFO
- Tiny Tot & 6U fields are 15yds x 25 yds
- 8U & 10U fields are 25yd x 45yds
GAME INFO
- Tiny Tots meet ONLY on Saturdays for 45 min developmental sessions
- 6U Division
- 8 minute quarters (4)
- Min. of 4 players, max of 6
- 2 min quarter breaks, 5 min half time break
- No overtime, no tie breakers, no score is kept
- 8U & 10U
- 10 min quarters (4)
- Min of 5 players + goalie, Max of 7 players + goalie
- 2 min quarter breaks, 5 min half time break
- No overtime, No tie breakers, no score is kept
If one team shows up to the game with less players than the minimum, coaches can agree to either share players or play with fewer players on the field.
RULES
- No goalies will be used in U6 league
- Goalies will be used in U8 & U10 leagues
- All major fouls will result in stoppage of play, brief instruction or correction, and resuming play
- Tiny Tot & U6 – All out of bounds will be restarted with a throw-in
- U8 & U10 – Will use throw-ins, corner kicks, and goal kicks accordingly
- Offsides will ONLY be called in the U8 & U10 leagues
- Offsides will not be called when a player is standing in the offside position, but not having direct affect on the play.
- A referee’s decision as to whether or not a player is offsides will be based on the players position when the ball is struck. A player who advances past the last defender after the ball as been struck is not considered offsides.
- An offensive player is considered offside when there is only 1 defensive player (goalie) between them and the goal when the ball is passed to them or played in front of them.
- There is no offsides on a throw-in or corner kick.
WEATHER CANCELLATIONS
In the event of inclement weather, we will notify coaches first to allow them to call their team parents as soon as possible. We will contact parents via email, phone call, text alerts through Remind 101, and via social media. We will also be using the Y Gametime platform to stay in contact with coaches and parents in regards to cancellations and schedules. A decision will be made at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled game or practice. If you are unsure, please call the YMCA to confirm at 843-545-9622.
