Weekly Updates
Hey everyone!
Thank you all for a great first weekend of games! I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving break and come back rejuvenated and ready to resume the season!
Practice Information - Practices continue this week! You can find your practice information and coach's contact information at the bottom of this email. It will be under my signature to end the email. Please make sure that you know your team's practice information!
- Some coaches may cancel practice due to the Y being closed on Thursday and Friday. If there would be a change to your practice, either your coach or I will let you know!
Game Schedule - NO GAMES THIS SATURDAY! There is a link at the bottom of this email as well that will take you to our website where you will be able to see the schedule!
The Grades Pre-K - K, and the Grades 1-2 age divisions will have their games at our North location, while the Grades 3 through Grades 12 age divisions will have their games at our South location!
November 29 and December 27 - There will be no games on those two Saturdays due to the Y being closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas! For practices during these weeks, your coach will let you know if your team is still practicing or not! We hope you take these weekends off and enjoy time with loved ones!
Jerseys - Jerseys will be distributed by your coach prior to the first game this Saturday. They will be reversible and can act like pinnies, so please bring them to practice with you if your coach would like you to! The jerseys will be College themed jerseys!
Equipment - The only thing required is athletic attire and either athletic basketball shoes, or sneakers! Please, try to have all removable jewelry off of your participants before every game! This is for your participant's safety!
SPECTATING - This is only for games at the SOUTH location: If you or your family members plan on staying to watch the game, all spectating will be done from the track above the basketball court! If you do not want to stand, please bring your own chairs! NO fans or family members are allowed on the basketball court during the games.
For practices and games at NORTH, please STAY OFF of the above track! This track is not big enough to have spectators watch from it like the South Y's track is. There is plenty of room on the side of the court to watch practices and games on court 1 and there are wooden bleachers on court 3! PLEASE LEAVE THE BOTTOM BLEACHERS ON COURT THREE FOR THE TEAM BENCHES! If you all could do that and tell anyone else who is coming to the games to please let that bottom bleacher open for the teams to sit on, that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY - New this year, we are implementing a zero tolerance policy!
- This policy applies to all coaches, players, parents, spectators, referees, and other supporters effective immediately.
- Abusive and obscene language towards anyone, violent play/conduct, fighting, and other unsportsmanlike behavior (including, but not limited to, sarcasm, taunting, etc.) deemed detrimental to the game between the above-mentioned groups will NOT BE TOLERATED.
- Violators of this policy will be immediately reprimanded. Depending on the severity of the violation, the violating party will be removed from the facility and could be banned indefinitely from future games/seasons. If it turns into a very severe violation of the policy or is the violator's second offense, the violator will be suspended from all programs at the YMCA for a certain period of time and could lose membership (if they are a member).
Winter Session 2 - Our second session of winter sports (basketball and soccer) are all open for registration online or at any of our front desks! Registration will CLOSE on January 12th!
Adult Sports Opportunities - We have adult drop-in soccer night on Monday nights from 8:30-10:30PM! Come and kick the soccer ball around or play against others for only $10 CASH! We also have adult drop-in volleyball night on Wednesday nights from 8:00-10:00PM! Come stay active and play some volleyball for only $5 CASH!
Please continue to always thank your volunteer coaches! I could not have a sports program without them! THANK YOU!
If you need anything else, please let me know!
Thanks,
Zach Kenworthy
