2026 Winter Basketball

Our RECREATIONAL* basketball league teaches players basketball fundamentals and game skills in a positive team environment.  All teams are coached by volunteer coaches – please sign up if you’d like to coach!

• *Registration After January 1st cannot guarantee the correct jerseys size*

Season dates: January 26th- March 7th

*No practice February 16th to observe Presidents Day*

Cost: $90 for community. $80 for YMCA members. Membership not required to play. Financial assistance is available at: Financial Aid – Helena Family YMCA (helenaymca.org)

Equipment: Bring your own basketball (with your name on it). Registration cost includes a jersey for all players. Ball sizes needed will be in registration confirmation email.

Practices: Start the week of January 26th. Teams have 45 min- one hour-long practice per week. Practices take place at various local school gyms (see selections below when registering) on a weeknight between 6-9pm.

Games: First game day Saturday, Jan 31st. Teams have one hour-long game per week, 5-6 total games per season. Games take place Saturdays at various local gyms between 9am-2pm.

Kindergarten-2nd grade games could be at Broadwater, Hawthorne, or the YMCA.

3rd-5th grade games could be at Kessler, Smith, Central, or Bryant.
