With an emphasis on fair play and safety first, the YMCA youth soccer programs are progressive with age appropriate rules to help teach the game and keep it fun! Soccer is the sport that teaches important core values, while also emphasizing exercise and building endurance. All four youth soccer leagues seasons present opportunities for character growth and health improvements in children.

This season has been formed for this league to fit busy families – especially those who travel! Year-round access to physical activity is crucial for kids, but a lot of families travel and stay quite busy during the summer season, and it is also likely going to be very hot. To accommodate for the heat and varying family availability, the plan for the season is as follows:
Rookie 3 League
Rookie 3 players engage in a 30-45 minute skill session to develop a love for the sport and the experience! Due to the summer heat, all practices will be held on Saturday mornings at 9:00am. No official teams will be formed, and all players will rotate to different coaches each week, to accommodate for flexibility with travel.
Pre-K/Kinder League
Players will engage in a 25-30 minute skill session followed by a 30-minute game. Due to the summer heat, all practices/games will start on Saturday mornings at 9:00am. No official teams will be formed, and all players will rotate to different coaches each week, to accommodate for flexibility with travel, and allow us to evenly distribute talent differently each week for the most competition!
1st/2nd Grade & 3rd/4th Grade & 5th/6th Grade Leagues
Practices for these ages will be held Saturday mornings from 10:00a – 10:50a, with a 10 minute cool-down and hydrate break, followed by a 30 minute game-like scrimmage at 11:00a, using official rules of the game. No official/consistent teams will be formed, and all players will rotate to different coaches each week, to accommodate for flexibility with travel plans
*All age groups below are based on your child’s age on 8/15/2024*
If you have any struggles paying for soccer (or any YMCA programs), please consider applying for a scholarship! There are many unused scholarships for our location, and we would absolutely love to give them all away. If you don’t think you will qualify, apply anyway! We often give out partial scholarships, and it’s worth a shot. The link to apply is below, but please apply *before* you register your kids, so it can be applied to your registration, if it is awarded. If you do not hear back from someone within a week or so of applying, please feel free to reach out to Mia Sarot for further assistance.
