Registration is still open! Register today for Fall I Sport Sessions at the Y! We will offer Coed Youth Soccer for ages Pre - K and 1st thru 3rd Grade. Coed Youth Volleyball will be available for 3rd Grade through Freshman and Sophomore ages. You can register at the Y or at gwrymca.org. The emphasis is to have fun, be positive, relaxed and enjoyable. Some age groups do not even keep score. Coaches will vary in their level of experience as well as practice and game philosophy. Regardless, a coach is a Volunteer and is not getting paid to do this although it takes up a large amount of time and effort. Without them we could not do it. If you wish to Volunteer or be a team helper please indicate your availability when your register your player. Also, every attempt is made to try and get your preference of practice days and times. With the large number of participants and teams not all preferences can be selected. Please try and choose a few days and times where your player would be available. There are also varying experience levels for all of the players at each age level. If you feel your player needs extra coaching or something needs to be addressed before practice starts, please reach out to the Sports Director and it will be discussed in detail. We do not want your player showing up and feeling overwhelmed that just because they haven’t played before they will not fit into the team. That is the exact opposite of what the YMCA is about. Everyone plays here and everyone is encouraged to help one another with skills development from the first practice. Ultimately, trying hard and having fun is what it is all about.
