Division 1 (Ages 8-12) | 2024 Summer Youth Volleyball League

Information

Welcome to Volleyball League at the Ventura YMCA! We are thrilled to have your child joining us for a season filled with fun! Please see the following for basic info on the season:

Jerseys

• Parents are required to purchase their child’s own jersey. You will NOT need to purchase another jersey if you would like to participate in future seasons. If you already have this jersey, you do NOT need to purchase another one. Here is the link to order: YMCA Uniform Store
• All that is required to purchase is the MULTI-SPORT JERSEY

Uniforms

•  Participants may wear any comfortable clothing to practices
• Game uniform: YMCA jersey, any comfortable athletic shorts/pants
•  Appropriate shoes must be worn at all games and practice (No open-toed shoes, crocs, etc). “Volleyball” shoes are optional.

Equipment:

• Knee Pads are required for games & practices
• Volleyballs will be provided by the YMCA, however your child may bring their own ball if they would like. Please ensure their name is written on the ball.

Team Assignments

• Parents receive their child’s team assignment by an automated email sent through YGametime prior to the start of the season. YGametime emails are entitled “Ventura Family YMCA” and contain important information.

Communication

• Download the GroupMe App ASAP: https://groupme.com/
• Throughout the season, your coach will be communicating with just your team through the GroupMe messaging app. Coaches will be out to you before the end of the weekend to introduce themselves and to send the GroupMe link to your team chat.
• Signing up for Text Alerts through the YGametime website is highly recommended! Cancellations due to weather are possible, and we will be communicating these through text message alerts in addition to emails.

Games

• Your game schedule is right here, on YGametime! Scroll down to see the entire season schedule. Find your team name on that schedule. At the top of the page, it will also remind you who your coach is and your practice day/time/location.
• Don’t lose the schedule – Create an App! While there is not currently a mobile app for this website, you can save the schedule website to your home screen to create an app! Attached to this email are directions for both iPhone and Android in case you cannot find this feature.

• First game: 7/20, 7/21
• Picture Day: 8/3
•  Last game/celebration: 8/17, 8/18
