Subject: Important Update: 3–4 Year Old Basketball Experience Structure & Focus

Thank you for joining our Co-Ed 3–4 Year Old Basketball Experience. We are excited to work with your young athletes and help them learn the foundations of the sport in a fun and supportive environment.

We want to take a moment to clarify the structure and goals of this program. This session is designed as an introduction to basketball, with a strong emphasis on skills, drills, and fundamental development rather than full game play. At this age, it is important that players first learn proper technique, movements, and understanding of the game before transitioning into more competitive play.

With that in mind, our schedule for the month will be as follows:

Weeks 1 & 2

60 minutes of full focus on skills and drills led by our volunteer coaches.
No games will be played during the first 2 weeks to ensure every child builds the foundation they need.

Week 3

• 45 minutes of continued skills and drills
• 15 minutes of simulated game play

Week 4

• 30 minutes of skills and drills
• 30 minutes of simulated game play

Our goal is to help all players develop the essential fundamentals they will need as they advance into older age groups where games become more structured and competitive. By prioritizing learning over gameplay, we ensure that your child is gaining real skills, confidence, and understanding—not just running up and down the court.
