11/12 Boys | 2025 Winter Thunder Youth Basketball

Just a reminder that Spring Sports registration is open and will continue through February 23rd! Late registration will be available through March 2nd for an additional $10. We’re offering Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, and Flag Football! Practices will begin the week of March 16th, and our first games will kick off on March 28th. We’re looking forward to a fun and exciting season with all of our athletes. Be sure to get registered soon so you don’t miss out!

Coaches are the backbone of the YMCA. They inspire, mentor, and create a positive environment where young athletes can learn, grow, and thrive. We are currently seeking volunteer coaches for our upcoming sports seasons. Your time and enthusiasm make all the difference in providing meaningful experiences for our players and families. Please note that if we are unable to secure enough coaches, some teams may unfortunately need to be disbanded. We want every child to have the opportunity to play, and we need your help to make that possible. If you’re interested in coaching or learning more about the role, please contact our sports director, Jhon Garcia. Together, we can build a season full of teamwork, growth, and community spirit.

Exciting news, families! Early registration for Y Sports opens January 1st. Get a head start on signing up for your favorite sports programs and secure your spot for the season. This season the sports we offer are Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, and Flag Football Mark your calendars for our Open House on January 24th! This is a free event for everyone, giving you the chance to explore our programs in person. You’ll find: A Informational booth about all the sports we offer Booths from local community businesses Opportunities to ask questions and learn more about Y Sports firsthand Games for the kids It’s a great way to see what’s available, meet our staff, and discover how your child can get involved in sports and other Y programs this year. Due to this weekend’s weather, we have a few important updates to share for programs at the Tandy Family YMCA: - All games scheduled for 1/24/26 have been canceled and will be rescheduled for Saturday, February 7. - Practices on 1/23/26 will end early, as the facility will be closing at 8:00pm (instead of 9:00pm). - Any 7:30pm practices on 1/23/26 will be limited to 30 minutes. Coaches, please communicate with your teams whether you plan to hold the shortened practice or cancel altogether. Most importantly, we hope everyone stays safe and warm.
