Due to this weekend’s weather, we have a few important updates to share for programs at the Tandy Family YMCA: - All games scheduled for 1/24/26 have been canceled and will be rescheduled for Saturday, February 7. - Practices on 1/23/26 will end early, as the facility will be closing at 8:00pm (instead of 9:00pm). - Any 7:30pm practices on 1/23/26 will be limited to 30 minutes. Coaches, please communicate with your teams whether you plan to hold the shortened practice or cancel altogether. Most importantly, we hope everyone stays safe and warm. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we prioritize the safety of our families, coaches, and staff. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Coaches are the backbone of the YMCA. They inspire, mentor, and create a positive environment where young athletes can learn, grow, and thrive. We are currently seeking volunteer coaches for our upcoming sports seasons. Your time and enthusiasm make all the difference in providing meaningful experiences for our players and families. Please note that if we are unable to secure enough coaches, some teams may unfortunately need to be disbanded. We want every child to have the opportunity to play, and we need your help to make that possible. If you’re interested in coaching or learning more about the role, please contact our sports director, Jhon Garcia. Together, we can build a season full of teamwork, growth, and community spirit.

Thank you again for your participation and support this season. Rosters have been sent out to all participants and coaches. Practice times are being shared directly by each volunteer coach, or you can look up your team and practice schedule anytime at: https://ygametime.com/branch/tandy/. We know some time slots may not fit every family’s schedule, and we understand the frustration this can bring. Our practice times are limited based on coach availability and the number of roster slots at each location. Rosters are set, and we are not able to add additional participants. If you requested to be placed with a specific coach, please know we will always try, but it is not guaranteed. Team placement comes first, and we balance requests while ensuring fair and developmental play for all participants. *Practices began this week, November 17–21* Next week, the facility will be open for practices, but please check with your coach to confirm if they plan to meet. Our coaches are volunteers, and availability may vary due to the holiday week. There will be no practices on Thursday, November 27th, as the facility will be closed for Thanksgiving. *Game schedules will be posted on November 22* Thunder Jerseys For families needing Oklahoma City game jerseys: They are currently out of stock. Please continue checking the website for updates. Jerseys are purchased through a third-party vendor, and local YMCA branches do not carry them for sale.
