WILSON YMCA FLAG FOOTBALL
RETURN TO PLAY GUIDELINES
We’re excited to see you at Y Youth Sports programs again soon. The safety and well-being of everyone is our top priority. In response to the COVID-19 health crisis, we have added a layer of new procedures to help everyone stay safe and healthy. Please review the following information about what to expect this season.
•No one should attend practice or a game if not feeling well, has a fever, currently under a quarantine or has been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days. Personal health and safety are the responsibility of all players, volunteers & spectators.
•If a positive COVID-19 test is reported to the Y, teams impacted will be notified, while keeping the individual’s identity confidential.
•Players and coaches should wash their hands before and after each practice.
•Coaches are responsible for ensuring social distancing is maintained within players as much as possible during practice/games.
•Participants and guest may consider wearing face coverings but are not required.
•Staff and coaches will be required to wear face coverings while in the presence of other officials, coaches, participants, and spectators or when 6 feet social distance is not possible.
•Game balls will be wiped down before game, half-time and after game by YMCA staff.
•Players should not share water bottles and drink containers. Players should bring their own water bottles to practice & games
•No sunflower seeds, gum or spitting will be allowed.
•Teams will be placed on opposite sides of the field with team designated spots. Spots will be marked on the sideline for kids to sit when off the field to help promote social distance.
•Spectators are encouraged to bring their own chairs/blankets and practice social distancing during practices and games.
•Players should not arrive more than 10 minutes early for practices, as to allow those scheduled before to exit.
•During the pregame YMCA Pledge, players will spread out along midfield using social distancing guidelines.
•After the game, there will not be any handshakes, congratulation lines, or parent tunnels. We ask teams to participate in our Sportsmanship gesture (2 claps and shouting “GOOD GAME,” to their opponent -still practicing social distancing.
•Avoid having large group team meetings before or after the game. When meeting, practice social distancing.
•Post-Game snacks/drinks will be optional for the Fall League. Items must be individually wrapped, or factory pre-packaged. Any unpackaged or shared team food is not permitted at this time.
SPECTATORS:
To minimize crowd size and more easily adhere to social distance guidelines, we ask that only immediate family members attend games and practices
To ensure participant health and safety, as well as enjoyment of our facilities and programs, we will continue to review and update these guidelines regularly to remain in line with federal, state and local guidelines.
